Let's hope you're not going to L'pool to drink mediocre danish lager :-)

Congrats!

I'm not so sure you'll beat Fiorentina, but if you do "I personally believe that..." the German teams will be too strong to overcome...

Fiorentina will certainly be a hard game, but we've won 7 european matches in europe, and if rosenborg can score in Italy we must have a good chance even if we lose or draw to win at home, like we did against you

im sure you never expected 6-1, maybe 2-0 or 3-0 but 6-1 never...now you know how strong we are, try not to underestimate us

we beat nurnberg 2-0 away who nearly beat BENFICA
we beat Zenit St Petersburg who beat VILLAREAL
and we beat AZ Alkmaar away

Quote from: "Nightfox"You are so stupid. We have not said anything about being better than everton. WHAT ARE YOU TRYING TO ACHIEVE? WE HAVE NOT SAID THAT WE ARE BETTER THAN YOU! OF COURSE 38 MATCHES IS MORE DIFFICULT THAN 26, But there is a bunch of sucky teams in the lower leagues, so probably we would be the best team anyway. But still, it has nothing to do with how good we are. In fact, we would be much better with larger league, because we would have to have a bigger squad. With only 26 matches, we can't have a big squad like you. And that is not BRANNS fault.

We HAD a defensive problem in the spring and summer. Look on how many goals we got against us in the group stage when we had Eirik Bakke, Hassan El Fakiri, Tijan Jaiteh, Sigurdsson and winters (all from the starting 11) injured (well Fakiri got suspended two matches and is not injured). With Branns small squad, thats a big achievement. You could laugh over Branns results in the group stage, but look at our bench against Basel. Our wings played central, we have a back who dont want to play here, we have no good alternative to play with Helstad, we needed new wings because our wings played central, Bjørnsson who are a striker had to play in defence because of Sigurdssons eye injury, and Guntveit, previous captain a few years ago and plays back, played the match central midfield from the start but also got injured. WHAT A MESS!!... We had no expectations, and we saw going through as a major achievement our injuries taken into count. Point is: No more defensive problems for us.

Well oh god Everton got alot of points in the group stage, so what? I do not reckon that as the toughest group, even Brann would go through from it, WITH our injury problems (and i don't say we play poor just because of our injuries, i just mention it). We don't fear your results. You're overstating. I did not avoid the 10-0 in purpose. If you want to know, we lost 9-0 at lerkendal the year before. 19-0 in two years, how silly is that? Where is the point anyway? It was our two major losses, and it was when RBK was big, no further mention. I have no problem admitting for those 13 years RBK was far up from any norwegian team. Finally, it has changed. And it's 11 years ago.

Tell me: How long time ago is it since Everton last medal?
How long time ago is it since everton last won anything?
How long time ago is it since everton last showed anything to fear? Everton is just a pointless team in premier league which no one fears. Not even BRANN SUPPORTERS. Must be a pity. You have got nothing else to show off than some UEFA results and some draws and wins against some good teams and some teams which have played good against the same good teams. In other words: NOTHING!!!

Do you REALLY MEAN that you will support Liverpool FC if we win, or is it just something you say..? I wont even get near saying "I cant believe how good everton is", because they are not. But I have allways said that Everton is better than Brann, and so it will be for a good while. So I would not be surprised if you knock us out, and if so, I will say that Everton was better than Brann. But even if, Everton is still no team which by far is so much better than us...

Brann beat all the rivals to the gold easilly this season. Can't see Everton doing the same thing. Wow, you win against Wigan and Derby, what an achievement!! We knocked and OUTPLAYED Lillestrøm two times, Stabæk two times, Viking one time, RBK one time, Fredrikstad one time and so on. All those teams I will reckon as better than the bottom half in premier league, many others too.

peteE

Yakubu and Johnson, 2 amazing strikers :)

You played well today, GL against Fiorentina, and enjoy this night, instead of rubbing it in our faces, we are sad enough as it is! :)

But Rosenborg pulled a draw agains Chelsea in the UCL, wich means they drawed a team that Everton would loose to. And since Fiorentina beat Rosenborg, Fiorentina should beat Everton since they beaten a team whom drawed Chelsea. Just putting it the way you do here..

O.o

You cant compare stuff like this.. Liverpool lost to Everton right? And Liverpool beat Inter. So in your way of comparing. Everton will beat Inter since they beat Liverpool?

Nobody undereestimated Everton, you were clear favorites. So you beat us off.season so what? Last february we lost 4-0 to an mediochre islandic team, we still won the league. Your clearly starved for sucsess, since you are listing up results. What is more important for you now is to cling unto that 4th place so you can get into the cl althought thats unlikely. Good luck  against Fiorentna, but loose the false smugness, its not very becoming.

Even if one cannot excuse a 1-8 aggregate defeat, It's confusing stuff to read the match reports from last evening's game. According to British newspaper Guardian, for example, Everton had 10 shots on target yesterday, which now means that they have scored 8 goals from 14 shots on target overall in this tie. The conclusions to be drawn then is that Everton either have a couple of very good strikers or that they have been exceptionally effective in front of goal in these matches. To compare, in the Premiership this season they have scored 41 goals from 116 shots on target, which gives a shots on target/goals ration of almost 3. To compare, over the two legs against Brann, this ratio is 1,75. To sum up, Everton deservedly through, but courtesy of a ridiculously flattering aggregate score. Cahill would do well to follow the example of the Everton players, who appears to take a prosaic view on this route into the last 16. The alternative, I reckon, is a brutal reality check in Florence.

Cahill

i cannot wait for florence, no doubt even if we make the final you will still be going on about how everton will lose no matter who the oponent is.

p.s. we didnt lose to chelsea in the league.

Harry Klein

Not at all. I rate Everton as one of the top three sides left in the competition. I'd be very surprised if the trophy didn't go to Germany (Bayern or Hamburg) or England (Everton, possibly Tottenham). Everton's 8-1 aggregate win doesn't really reflect the tie very well, which I think (from the post-match interviews) most of the Everton players and staff realised. Also, crucial decisions went aganist Brann throughout, and having seen the Carsley-Demba Nyren incident in replay, I am appalled the referee failed to penalise the Everton midfielder.

Harry Klein

The fact you would have beaten us with 10 men anyway, is an entirely different matter, though;)

sabu

I believe it will be a tough match against Fiorentina. But, they are fighting for the Champions League place next season, so that could be disturbing for them. There is only 3 points from fourth placed Fiorentina to fifth placed Milan.
I know you have something to fight for yourself, but when it comes to Italian teams, they will fight in the league instead of the Uefa Cup. Fiorentina is the only club this season from Italy who is fighting for the next round. Rest of the teams gives nothing, and don't care about it.
It will be tough, but I have a good feeling that Everton will eliminate Fiorentina.
Even if they play with their best team in Uefa Cup, they will stay most focus in the league.
If this was Champions League, I would go for Fiorentina.
They rather qualify for the Champions League than winning the Uefa Cup.

Cahill

good luck in champions league next year...good luck for your upcoming season, your fans were brilliant...heard something that some fans threw coins at Andrew Johnson, but apart from that you seemed really happy.

according to this site, everton 3rd best team in Europe, including champions league teams.

Hope you win the cup, and beat L'pool and the others in the race for the 4th place in the Premier League. We have hopefully gained some experience that'll help us in August, and through out the Norwegian season.

I still don't consider Everton as a team to fear. I know you are better than us, but it has never been and will never be "Wow shit Everton" for me. Everton will stay Everton forever. Just Everton.

I mean, say if Brann should play Barcelona. Many Brann supporters would have thought "Wow shit Barcelona, wow...". Everton will never be such a team for me. And you guys are actualy fighting for that glory you'll never get. You have never got further than BRANN in UEFA since the 80s (?) untill now, and thats what I mean. Everon is Everton. A good side in premier league, better than the championship clubs and better than norwegian sides, but still just Everton.
