Maiden's 250.000 audience gig was not in Maracanã, it was in Cidade do Rock, the City of Rock. http://img89.imageshack.us/img89/5201/vistaerea24ou.jpg.
The DVD actually shows Steve and Janick at maracanã watching brazilian league 2000 final match, Vasco vs São Caetano, in 2001.
A-ha 198.000 show was in maracanã indeed... But the stage and most of audience was on the field.

Because of FIFA rules, the stadium changed a lot.

The're were mostly standing places in the old times, now have seats only.
Thank's Corran, I understand nothing but the basic in norwegian, but I'm studying. Hell of a hard language to learn, but equally beatiful...

Maracanã is an old stadium, it's not allowed to sell too many tickets there now... About 110.000, at maximum. Historical books says that at Brasil vs Uruguay, 1950 world cup final, was something like 210.000 people crying at the end of the game...

Quote from: "Morriss"Congratulations! That was the fourth title in top league in Brazil by São Paulo right? I read that this is a record in Brazil by São Paulo together with Palmeiras, Corinthians and Flamengo, all these teams got four titles.

You forgot to mention Vasco da Gama, also 4 times winner. Flamengo has a fight against our league manager, CBF, because he also won the '87 league, so he is considered by many a 5 times winner... Our football is very well administrated, as you can see.

Congratulations! Perhaps Brann as the Champions league holders in 2009 will meet Sao Paolo in the match between the best team in South America and Europe.

Wow, we'll definately be there in Japan! And I promess I'll support Brann! São Paulo FC already has 3 world club championships, next year maybe the fourth. On 2009, Heia Brann!

Next sunday I'm going at Morumbi, to the game that could gives the brasilian championship, and probably i'll write some of my experience just to all of you know our problems. But we do everything for the game. Everything.
Our first toy is a ball. We play at school, on the streets, at home, video game(I play with SK Brann, of course). Our stadiums are old and falling apart, but we don't care. We don't have snow storm, but we have our little problems.

Quote from: "Texas"Funny to see an argument between "trønders" and "bergensere"....in english.
I'm pretty sure that both out cities seem rather small and rural compared to sao paulo.

I actually have a couple of friends from sao paulo at my univiersity, and of course, they love football (i refuse to call it soccer). one of them supports corhintians and the other one supports sao paulo. Anyways, the were telling me that you couldn't go to the games alone because then you were in great danger of being robbed, beaten up etc. That is messed up. Kinda like "felt z at our games." hehe, just joking.  I was talking to my spanish teacher from Chile about the football violence in South America, and she believes that all the violence at the games comes from people who are poor and/or opressed letting all their frustration out while attending the games. But you johnny, probably know more about this, so please correct me if I'm wrong.

Sad but true. What the gangs do in New York is multiplied by this Organizadas, that uses the teams and situations to steal and sell drugs. OF course is a minimal part of them, but they exist and destroy the intentions of ordinary people about watching games on the stadium.

Here's a video of the other part, the cool part: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-SPmE2YV91k

As you can see for my poor english, most of the brazilian people (including our president) don't speak anything put poor portuguese, because our wrecked educational system.

Brann / São Paulo (the town)
November 16, 2006, 17:10:53 PM
We have our particular differences on our brothers from other towns, too. Rio de Janeiro, for example. They hate us, we hate them. They have beach, we have... Rain and polluted rivers.

That's ok, because we win all the championships and they are being relegated every year.

About violence, last year a Flamengo fan killed a Botafogo supporter with a scythe. Yes, it's shocking.

Do you know where I can find more videos on Brann goals?

Here is a single video on SPFC (I know, enough is enough): http://fifa.entriq.com/fifa.html?w=480&h=360&startupurl=mms://fifa.lbwa.verio.net/fifa/match_7_500.wmv&startup=%20Sao%20Paulo%201:0%20Liverpool#

Quote from: "Erlend"hey johnny, how many guys does the sao paolo stadium take?  could you give us some numbers on how many people usually take the trip there.  Brann Stadion right now has a capacity of about 13000, because we are building out, and this year we had an average of about 16800 people there.  When they are finished buildning out, it will be a beautiful stadium with a capacity of 20000.

For example, i'm going next sunday with 70.650 other brothers to scream and yell for our fourth Campeonato Brasileiro. The record of public was about  138.000. Here you can see pics of the stadium: http://www.tricolormania.com.br/morumbi/
There's about 15.000.000 SPFC Fans, here in Brasil.

I saw Brann stadion at google earth, and hope be there soon with all of you.

We are very afraid of violence from our Organizadas, I had some negative and sad experiences, most of brazilian think twice about going on a stadium with all the hate people put on our beloved football. I disagree with this stupidity, we can prove our passion without killing anyone.

Brann / Brazilian Beer
November 16, 2006, 03:36:30 AM
Our Beer isn't the best in the world. I prefer our football. We have this summer, you know, and our beer is too light. I prefer caipirinha!

Yes, our rivalry over corinthians is very enraged, there is always someone at orkut choosing hour and place for fighting. And they are not our only rival! We have also Palmeiras and Santos for the rumble, hahahahaha.

If you, that lives in the country-Bergen, have problems to speak and learn english, what would you say about a brazilian trying to lear your language! I intent to travel in a couple of years to Bergen, hope that I've learned Norwegian in time and don't be embarassed.

Our national team was a shame in the world cup, the players were really scarred and didn't even returned to our country. Most of them live in Europe and there they stood.

Thanks for the good news, I never liked any uniform Umbro ever did here in Brasil, club or Seleção Canarinho. Kappa made some real beautiful uniforms for Gremio de Football Portoalegrense (do you know them?).

Haven't found any Rosenborg supporter to throw an egg on him.

There's a lot of videos about SPFC //(www.spfc.net) at youtube. But not that much on Brann, and i don't know why our tv's doesn't broadcast Brann goals and games on Tippeligaen, hahahaha...

Good idea on Brann Bataljonen Brazil, there's a fan website at New York, why not São Paulo?

Hail.

Brann / Why?
November 14, 2006, 22:30:40 PM
Hahahahaha, I know it is a little strange and sounds weird, that's what everyone tells me. But football, for me, is passion, and it's not quite simple to explain. I always had large interest about Norway, its culture, music and on.
Football is a way to get this interest closer, and i first heard and became a fan about the time Norway crushed Brasil 4-2, with a great game by Flonaldo,  the hated one.

I know that Boca is the greatest on South America, but Fifa world club champion '05 São Paulo FC is just around the corner. Let's not talk about the difference on Brasil 5, Argentina 2 world cups, right? hahahahaha.

My only complaint: Umbro doesn't sell any of SK Brann material here in south america. After a great research, I found something on that other team I will not mention.

Cheers
